This was a project done for Art 305 with Laurie Gatlin. We were required to create an audio file with our own voice, sounds, and music. I used iMovie to create the video with my own photos and uploaded it to YouTube.
Script - When I visited my nana and papa as a child, the art space was the kitchen table, or outside on the grass. The art space was the cupboard above the washer and dryer, or on the living room floor. Their house is where the earliest artistic memories of my childhood reside. My art space used to be the studio spaces provided by the college’s I attended. A place for everything. An art space for photography…. for painting…. for drawing….for sculpting...I don’t think I realized how lucky I’ve been to have had access to all these amazing art studios. Recently, I had to create an art space of my own since we are completely virtual… A desk with lots of space … cubbies for supplies … A kitchen counter … and endless amounts of coffee.
But this question really got me thinking. What if an art space is everywhere. Existing wherever there is inspiration. An art space may be A walk on the beach…. A car ride filled with music... A fantastic view... A pinterest search... A good book... A dream... A conversation with a friend…. A walk through nature…. I think my art space lives in many different places. Anywhere where I get that creative high, or am filled with inspiration. An art space is something that I create … through my experiences.
REFLECTION
Reflection: I had a really fun time making this podcast and the video to go along with it. I think in the future I'll use what I've learned here to create short audio segments and maybe try my hand at animation! Overall I enjoyed making this podcast - and listening to my voice over and over again wasn't as bad as I was expecting. :)
